How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty! Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked... For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor.
Psalm 84

Living Out Your Faith 4: Abraham’s Faith in Action

James 2:14-17

My Sermon Notes from September 27, 2020 Full Text:

雅各書 James 2:14-17

14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

Discussion Questions:

1. How do we reconcile salvation by faith and faith without works is dead? Please elaborate.
2. How did Abraham prove his faith to God when asked to offer his son as a burnt offering?
3. What are the things you are living for and what are the things you cannot live without?
