How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty! Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked... For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor.

Offer Your All

Mark 12:41-44

My Sermon Notes from January 27, 2019 Full Text: Mark 12:41-44

干的錢。 42有一個窮寡婦來,往裡投了兩個小錢,就是一個大錢。
眾人所投的更多, 44因為他們都是自己有餘,拿出來投在裡頭,
41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd
putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But
a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.
43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into
the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her
poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”
(馬可福音 Mark 12:41-44)

Discussion Questions:
1. What for you are the best things you have learned from this message? Please share some of them.
2. The offerings that are acceptable in God’s eyes are those that are cheerfully and freely given. We
can infer from this that some people do not willingly and cheerfully give when they make their
offerings. In their giving, how do the motives and purposes of the two groups differ? Have you such
experiences before as you make your offering?
3. The Lord listens to the beautiful sounds of our offerings. What kind of sound comes from your heart
or your lips as you give your offering?
4. The Lord commended the widow for offering her all. What did the Lord say about her? The Lord
implied that there is a principle which makes an offering acceptable to the Lord. What principle is that?
