How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty! Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked... For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor.

The One and Only Mediator

Hebrews 4:14-16

My Sermon Notes from June 2, 2019 Full Text: Hebrews 4:14-16

14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the
Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who
is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in
every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace
with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Hebrews 4:14-16)

Discussion Questions:
1. How can I trust Christ more as the only mediator between God and people?
2. What does it mean when Christ relates to us in our weaknesses?
